The S2 departs from Blankenfelde in the county of Teltow-Fläming via Südkreuz, travels through the North-South S-Bahn tunnel with a stop at Friedrichstraße via Gesundbrunnen and ends in Hussitenstadt Bernau in the county of Barnim.
The line runs every 20 minutes and offers passenger services between Lichtenrade and Buch at 10-minute intervals during the day. The train runs every 30 minutes through the night on Friday and Saturday.

Passengers on the S1 please change in Gesundbrunnen in both directions. The journey continues in the direction of Oranienburg after 18 minutes from the other platform (the station is equipped barrier-free) or in the direction of Wannsee after 17 minutes from the same platform.
